Bringing Korean culture to Village Chance

Last week a group of students from Hannam University in Daejeon, South Korea, came to Village Chance to teach the kids of Grade 4 a little more about their culture. Maison Chance is happy to welcome back some of them (who came last year) and discover new faces.

Our group of Overseas Volunteers introduced some basic Korean sentences to the children, who learned how to write their names in Korean on a card they proudly carry around their neck.

Moreover, the Korean students were very creative to find fun activities to do with the children such as playing soccer and basketball, painting, dancing, etc. Check out the video below to see how adorable they all are dancing on Korean pop!

They also gave a hand to repaint the balcony railing in Village Chance in a beautiful blue, color of hope.

At the end of the week, it was hard and heartbreaking for the children to say goodbye to our volunteers… But fortunately, Maison Chance is expecting to welcome them back next year!

Thank you very much to our Korean friends, the children are waiting for you to come back!
