Royal New Zealand Navy Sailors Visit Village Chance

On the sunny afternoon of September 25th, a heartwarming event unfolded as a group of Royal New Zealand Navy sailors hailing from the vessels HMNZS Te Mana and HMNZS Aotearoa paid a visit to Village Chance in Binh Tan District, HCMC.

During this memorable occasion, Mr. Scott James, the Consul General of New Zealand in HCM City, and the Royal New Zealand Navy extended their generosity by donating nine wheelchairs to the disabled people at Village Chance. These wheelchairs were graciously provided by kind-hearted benefactors from New Zealand, channeled through the New Zealand Embassy. To support Maison Chance, two New Zealand Royal Navy ships transported these nine wheelchairs all the way from New Zealand. Mr. Scott James took a moment to express his heartfelt gratitude to Maison Chance for enabling this group to bring positive change to the lives of the people in Ho Chi Minh City.

In a spirit of cultural exchange, the sailors from the two Royal New Zealand Navy vessels enriched the atmosphere with a traditional Maori haka dance, creating a vibrant and friendly atmosphere for the beneficiaries of Maison Chance. Beyond presenting gifts and participating in cultural performances, these compassionate sailors engaged in an inspiring game of wheelchair basketball with the disabled individuals present.
