The year 2021 was a challenging one for the Vietnamese economy in general, and particularly for Saigon. Even as the old year draws to a close and the new one approaches, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to have a significant influence on many people in the city, particularly the working poor in exile, making their lives even more difficult.
The families of parents of students studying in Village Chance are no exception to the general difficult situation. As a result of the pandemic, many people are out of work, have no money, and suffer numerous challenges in their everyday lives. Given these challenges, Maison Chance has worked hard to secure financing and assistance from sponsors and donors to benefit disadvantaged students’ families in Saigon.
Maison Chance has helped many deprived families with hundreds of pupils studying at Village Chance as well as scholarships to the outer students, thanks to the involvement and contributions of the community. Food and other essentials were delivered to the students’ families by Maison Chance, including rice, instant noodles, spices, clothing, and personal care products. Maison Chance has so far maintained its commitment, with the first phase beginning in July, the second in September, and the third on December 28, 2021.
Although these presents do not ease all of the problems faced by the students’ families, they do assist them in meeting their financial obligations at the end of the year, helping to alleviate the challenges and strains of everyday economic life.
Thank you, on behalf of the students and parents, for your cooperation and support in partnering with Maison Chance to aid families in need! Maison Chance hopes to continue receiving community support to help more less fortunate people in the society.
